About The Lodge
The Lodge is an Alternative Provision which is designed to support students at their point of need. We provide for
- Students that are struggling in mainstream education and are potentially heading towards permanent exclusion.
- Students that are currently out of education and are needing to return to mainstream.
- Students that need rest bite education for a short period of time to help them to refocus and develop coping strategies to become successful learners.
How We Help Our Students
We take a holistic approach to education that gives students the time and space to evaluate their own strengths and weaknesses and examine cause and effect.
Within their time at the Lodge we look to challenge their patterns of behaviour, improve their attitude to learning and equip them with the skills to be successful learners.
As specialists working in alternative provision, the Lodge staff are skilled in developing student’s awareness of their own triggers, habits and decision-making skills. The programme students undertake on their placement is designed to boost their self-confidence and develop personal & social skills.
As part of the assessment process, we look to see if students may have any form of unrecognised special educational need and start an assessment process where applicable.
The curriculum delivered at the lodge is child centered. High quality core subject lessons enable students to keep up with class-based studies.
The Lodge has a robust reintegration process to ensure that each child when returning to mainstream education has the best opportunity to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom.
